INTRODUCTION:
The Registrar’s Office seeks a full-time Student Status Examiner - Senior (Commencement Coordinator & Univeristy Graduation Examiner).
JOB DUTIES:
The Commencement Coordinator & Graduation Examiner is responsible for the coordinating of all campus commencement ceremonies, also the clearing and processing of degrees for all Associate Degree programs and the College of Business and Economics. The person in this position must demonstrate and maintain a thorough knowledge of the many regulations, policies, and procedures that govern the university’s degree clearance process. The person will possess strong interpersonal skills and will serve as an expert resource and liaison with students, faculty, and staff regarding degree postings and commencement ceremony resources. The person will display appropriate initiative and must possess strong analytical, verbal and written communication skills and be able to work independently. The person will review policies and procedures relevant to the position’s responsibilities, work with the supervisor and colleagues to ensure that best business practices are in place, and recommend changes. If approved, coordinate the implementation of the changes and inform other individuals and offices as appropriate. The person will use prudent judgment, exercise independent decision-making and problem solving skills, and will communicate through personal behavior a courteous and responsive attitude toward the needs and requests of students, faculty, and staff.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate Degree from an accredited institution
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution
- Experience in event management
- Experience working in a University setting
- Experience using electronic data management systems
- Cooperation - Ability to work as a part of a team. Ability to function effectively in team situations both within the Registrar’s Office and across departments and other organizations to achieve optimal collective results
- Technical Skills - Ability to demonstrate proficiency in technical aspects of the position to achieve a high level of performance. Ability and desire to learn.
- Customer Service - Ability to demonstrate effectiveness when working with students and others and demonstrate an understanding of how to best meet the needs of users of our services.
- Communication Skills - Ability to share information in an effective and collaborative manner.
- Job Knowledge - Ability to demonstrate proficiency in job knowledge aspects of this complex position to achieve a high level of performance with minimal supervision. Ability and desire to learn
- Personal Effectiveness - Ability to demonstrate respect, dignity and integrity in interpersonal relationships and to demonstrate positive personal coping and wellness strategies.
- Willingness and ability to be an active participant in following applicable safety rules and regulations including necessary training and drills
