INTRODUCTION:

The Human Resources & Diversity department at the University of Wisconsin Whitewater is seeking a Human Resources Assistant as a full-time project position (HR Assistant, 19010). This position will be for 1 year, with the ability to be renewed for up to 4 years. Pay will be based on qualifications and experience, with a range of $17.50 - $19.50 per hour.

The University of Wisconsin System is engaged in a Title and Total Compensation (TTC) project to redesign job titles and compensation structures. As a result of the TTC project, your mapped job title is: HR Assistant (HR007). Job duties and responsibilities will remain the same. This job title will go into effect November 7, 2021. JOB DUTIES:

This position will perform routine human resources tasks and will provide general administrative support for the talent acquisition, front desk, payroll and benefits teams.
  1. Assists with data entry, recruitment screening, Time & Labor security, & maintenance of employee records according to established policies and procedures
  2. Prepares and organizes routine administrative communication to internal and external customers
  3. Assists with payroll data entry and benefits communications
  4. Receives and responds to inquiries in-person, via email, and through various communication mediums and relays information to appropriate entities
  5. Interprets, applies, and disseminates routine policies, procedures, and options to leadership and employees
  6. Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 2 years of office experience in an organizational setting
  • H.S. Diploma
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to multitask
  • Inquisitive nature and ability to review, assess and process information timely and with accuracy
  • Well-developed project management skills 
  • Willingness and ability to be an active participant in following applicable safety rules and regulations including necessary training and drills
  • Ability to interact respectfully with people from diverse socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds
