INTRODUCTION:
The Depaertment of Facilities Planning and Management at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater seeks a HVAC Mechanic (HVAC Mechanic FP043).
JOB DUTIES:
- Monitors, tests, maintains, and repairs Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems, related equipment, and controls according to established policies and procedures within an assigned facility
- Receives, prioritizes, and responds to service requests according to established timelines and policies
- Identifies, prioritizes, troubleshoots, and escalates system problems, equipment malfunctions, and repair needs
- Performs scheduled preventative and routine maintenance and documents activity on equipment and systems to ensure optimal and safe operation
- Develops and schedules operational work plans for staff occasionally
- Occasionally direct the work of other staff performing routine maintenance and repair functions
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Qualifactions:
- High School Diploma
- 3 years HVAC experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Willingness and ability to be an active participant in following applicable safety rules and regulations including necessary training and drills
- Ability to interact respectfully with people from diverse socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Well-qualified candidates can expect a starting hourly salary within a range of $21.00-$24.50.

CONDITIONS OF APPOINTMENT:
