Requirements for admission to a degree program in good standing are as follows:
1. A baccalaureate or higher degree from a regionally accredited institution.
2. At least a 3.001overall grade point average in all the graduate work previously completed at UW-Whitewater, with no grades of I or IP pending.

The following application requirements must be met and received by the Office of Graduate Studies by the appropriate application deadline. All items listed below must be submitted for your application to be considered. Here is what you need to do:
Complete the Graduate Application
This application should be used by individuals: (1) who wish to earn a graduate degree from the University, (2) who wish to change graduate programs/emphases within the University, (3) who wish to change their status from a non-candidate for degree to earn a graduate degree from the University, and (4) who want to apply as a non-candidate for degree student. An Online application is available.
Order Official Transcript(s)
Have official transcript(s) sent directly to the appropriate address (see Mailing Information below) from any institution(s): (1) that granted your bachelor's degree(s), (2) that granted your master's (or higher) degree(s), and (3) from which you have completed graduate course work that you wish to transfer into your intended degree program at UW-Whitewater. Additional transcripts may be required, at the discretion of the School of Graduate Studies. (We will order all UW-Whitewater transcripts.)
Submit $56 Graduate Application Fee
This non refundable fee is assessed to first time UW-Whitewater graduate program and certificate applicants only (NOT non-candidate for degree, cooperative or post master's programs, degree or emphasis changes, or those earning a second master's at UW-Whitewater).
Complete the Transfer of Credit form(s), if applicable
One transfer credit application must be completed for EACH non UW-Whitewater course you wish to transfer into your program. All course work, with the exception of up to nine credits, must be completed at UW-Whitewater. You can download the Transfer Credit application. Complete Departmental Application Requirements, if applicable
Departments may have additional application materials that they require. Please contact the appropriate department for possible additional requirements (see departmental telephone numbers). These materials should be sent directly to the specific departmental office.
In addition to the documents and the academic requirements listed above, all international students must also submit the following with their applications:

Submit a photocopy of the relevant information from your passport. This document is required in order to process your application.
5. Letter of Recommendation
You will need to submit a letter of recommendation from a former professor, attesting to your ability to pursue graduate study in the United States.
