STARS Silver Certification

SilverThe Sustainability Tracking, Assessment & Rating System (STARS), a program by the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE), is a transparent, self-reporting framework for colleges and universities to measure their sustainability performance.  On April 22, 2015, UW-Whitewater formally submitted their application for this assessment and was awarded a Silver Certification for their efforts.  The full assessment can be found on AASHE’s site here.

University Housing contributed greatly to this endeavor through its facilities and programming initiatives on campus.  A few programs that were included in the credits for STARS included the following.

University Housing and the rest of the Campus is committed to keeping our STARS rating and improving it in the coming years.  The STARS program can provide a road map towards where we want to be.  For more information about AASHE and STARS you can check out their Web site here.
