Online/Blended Teaching Support

Teaching online involves more than just transferring your in-class documents from print to digital form and loading them into Canvas. While technology plays a major role in facilitating an online or blended course, the ultimate success depends on the interaction of the student with the content, their instructor, and their peers. Designing online or blended courses involves a strategic rethinking of course design -- and not just a replacement of seat time or digitalization of content.  Teaching online involves a thoughtful approach to utilizing appropriate technology and communication tools.

Commonly addressed areas:

  • Enabling student success in an online or blended environment
  • Designing interactive learning activities
  • Aligning content to pedagogical goals
  • Creating effective online assignments
  • Discussing strategies to provide consistent feedback to students that also saves you time
  • Developing course media including video
  • Increasing course accessibility to learners ·
  • Using Canvas and other digital tools effectively
  • Ensuring course quality
