Study Abroad

Veterans Benefits

Students receiving veterans benefits may be able to use their benefits to help fund their education abroad experience. Since the ability to use these benefits towards education abroad programs depends on a variety of complex factors, the Office of Global Experiences works closely with Veterans Services to coordinate veterans benefits for students participating in education abroad programs.

Students planning to use their Post-9/11 GI Bill® benefits or Wisconsin GI Bill benefits to assist in funding a study abroad program must meet with the Office of Global Experiences and Veterans Services early on in the study abroad planning process, before applying to a program, in order to identify a program that meets the requirements of the VA and the student's study abroad goals.
