Distracted

Distracted: Why Students Can't Focus and What You Can Do About It

By: James M. Lang

James Lang, the author of Small Teaching, puts forth the premise that technology is not the biggest obstacle in the classroom, but rather our teaching is at odds with how students learn. Building from this foundation, Lang discusses theories about distraction and technology before diving into practical ideas for cultivating students’ attention. We’ll discuss Lang’s ideas for improving attention and engagement during testing, classroom activities, and even the syllabus!
