Multicultural Career Fair welcomes all majors

February 03, 2014

Multicultural Career FairStudents will get the chance to meet employers and gain exposure to potential career paths at the annual Multicultural Career Fair.

The event, Wednesday, Feb. 5, from noon - 4 p.m. in the University Center's Hamilton Room, is open to students of all majors.

"Employers are looking for people with transferable skills, so it is not what your major is as much as it is the type of skills and experiences that college has given the students," said Freda Briscoe, director of the Minority Business and Minority Teacher Preparation programs.

It is never too early to attend this career fair, Briscoe said. Freshmen through seniors are encouraged to attend. The fair can help students confirm that they've chosen the right major and career path.

Companies like Target, Walgreens, Kohl's and American Family Insurance are expected to be represented.

Students are advised to wear business or business casual attire and bring copies of their resumes as well.
