Campus Diversity Forum Nov. 3-6

It's an annual event that celebrates the diversity of the UW-Whitewater community and how it translates into the world beyond our university borders - the Campus Diversity Forum.
Hosted by the College of Business and Economics, the forum will feature a series of speakers and events from Nov. 3-6.
"Our hope is to increase an awareness in students that there is a whole world out there, and we want them to be multiculturally competent. We hope for people to understand the value of diversity on a societal and professional level," said Eylem Ersal, assistant professor of economics.
The first event is at 4:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 3, in Timmerman Auditorium. Marilyn Johnson, former vice president of market development at IBM, will be speaking about "The Engine of Inclusion... and its Effect on the Global Workplace." A reception will be held in the Hyland Hall atrium at 3:45 p.m. prior to Johnson's talk. Drinks and snacks will be served.
On Tuesday, Nov. 4, at 4 p.m. in Young Auditorium, "Different Shades of Purple" will feature students and faculty members showcasing their talents in entertaining cultural performances.
On Wednesday, Nov. 5, at 4:30 p.m. in Timmerman Auditorium, Debora Spar, president of Barnard College, will give a talk titled "Wonder Women: Sex, Power and the Quest for Perfection."
The final event in the forum is Thursday, Nov. 6, at 3:30 p.m. in the Hamilton Room in the James R. Connor University Center. It will feature a student panel on "Student Perspectives on Diversity," followed by selections performed by the UW-Whitewater Gospel Choir.
