Tri Sigma sorority and Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity are co-sponsoring UW-Whitewater's second annual St. Baldrick's Day fundraiser for pediatric cancer research. The event will be held Saturday, March 12, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the James R. Connor University Center Hamilton Room.

Smith, a junior psychology major and Tri Sigma event coordinator, said there will be refreshments, music and an energetic atmosphere as attendees cheer on students and community members who shave or cut their hair eight inches.

Last year's event raised $8,000, and with this year's goal of $25,000, involvement from any and all student or community members is greatly appreciated, Smith said.

For those who are hesitant to shave their heads or cut off eight inches of their hair, there is the option to donate and cheer on "shaves" at the fundraiser.
