Free COVID-19 vaccination clinics on campus
 
Students, faculty, staff and members of the community can receive their free COVID-19 vaccinations at the Whitewater and Rock County campuses at upcoming clinics. The Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson vaccines will be available as supplies last.

These are walk-in clinics with no appointments. No “booster shots” will be offered during these times. Students who get vaccinated at the clinics on campus this week will be included in a raffle for a UW-Whitewater Dining Services gift package valued at $50, Summerfest tickets, and a 1-year movie pass.

Cybersecurity program validated by the U.S. National Security Agency
 
UW-Whitewater has received the Program of Study Validation from the National Centers of Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity. This recognition extends to the Bachelor of Business Administration in Information Technology with a Networking and Security emphasis offered by the College of Business and Economics.

UW-Whitewater alumna and philanthropist Lolita Kachel passes away
 
UW-Whitewater is remembering Lolita Kachel, an alumna and longtime benefactor who has died at the age of 92. She passed away on Thursday, Sept. 2, in Whitewater.

Over the course of their lives, Lolita and her husband David Kachel made hundreds of gifts and donated millions of dollars to UW-Whitewater, leaving a transformative legacy at their alma mater.

The Benefits and Wellness Team is excited to announce the new Worksite Wellness website! This website will have information about wellness opportunities, events on campus, details about wellness initiatives, offerings and resources on campus. It will be updated monthly with different opportunities.

The current wellness initiatives for September are Suicide Prevention Week, which is Sept. 5-11, and Staywell/WebMD’s Sleep Tight, Feel Right!

Looking for good free food?
 
There are several options — on and off campus — for free food in Whitewater. If you are in need of extra meals because you are experiencing food insecurity (can’t afford food, are worried about finding your next meal) please call the Dean of Students Office at 262-472-1533 to speak with someone about your needs. MyMeals CARES is a program where My Meals may be added to your Hawk Card at no additional cost to you if you are in need.
  • Free to-go spaghetti meals are offered 5-5:30 p.m. every Monday at the Congregational United Church of Christ in Whitewater. Pick up the meal at the 133 S. Franklin Street entrance.
  • The Community Space at 834 E. Milwaukee Street in Whitewater offers a variety of food.
  • Warhawk Pantry is open 2-5 p.m. every Tuesday and Wednesday in Drumlin, Room 143.
  • The Warhawk Emergency Fund helps students stay in college by helping to ease financial burdens such as food insecurity.
