December's commencement ceremony will be held Saturday, Dec. 18, at 10 a.m. in Kachel Fieldhouse at the Williams Center. Each student is able to invite up to seven guests. Students can pick up their tickets at the Registrar’s Office in Roseman between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Warhawk Football (12-0 overall) advanced to the national quarterfinals after beating DePauw 45-0. They will now face eighth-ranked Central (Iowa) at noon this Saturday, Dec. 4, at Perkins Stadium.

Gala Benefit Concert
 
An annual tradition, the Department of Music presents the Gala Benefit Concert at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, at the Young Auditorium. The Gala concert features works from every student ensemble in the department and all proceeds benefit the Music Department Scholarship Fund, which allows the department to recognize students for their talents and academic excellence.

Warhawk Pantry donation drive
 

The Warhawk Pantry is expanding to offer school supplies and winter clothing, and donations are greatly appreciated to help build this inventory to help students. Items can be dropped off any time at the Warhawk Pantry exterior entrance at Drumlin 143. Donation bins are also located in Andersen Library near the front entrance, Hyland Hall atrium, Center of the Arts Hinklin Theater, Winther Hall main entrance, and UC next to the north main entrance.

We also encourage cash donations to the Warhawk Emergency Fund. To donate, click on the link below and select "Warhawk Emergency Fund" from the drop-down menu.

Winther Counseling Services available to Warhawk community
 

Winther Counseling Services is available for free and confidential sessions for students, faculty, staff and the public. Virtual sessions may be available in exceptional circumstances. Counselors-in-training working toward their Master of Science in Counseling provide the counseling and outreach services, supervised by faculty in the Department of Counselor Education.

Holiday Survival Guide Seminar
 

We all have feelings about the holidays. For many, it's a wonderful time of celebration, family gatherings and joyful times. For others, it's a time of sadness and feeling overwhelmed. This seminar, at noon on Wednesday, Dec. 8, will help participants examine sources of holiday stress and learn strategies for coping and managing their emotions, time, relationships and finances. Share ideas for organizing holiday tasks and managing holiday demands, and look at the role of holiday traditions.

  • Get to try space experiments, activities and crafts that are fun for your whole family.
  • Learn about the James Webb Space Telescope that will launch on Dec. 18.

Free spaghetti dinners available
Free home-made, microwavable, take-home dinners are distributed on Monday evenings between 5 and 5:30 p.m. at the Congregational United Church of Christ at 133 S. Franklin St. in Whitewater. Individuals can receive multiple meals at each pickup if needed. All are welcome!
