Sustainability
To promote equity and justice, we at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater’s Center for Inclusive Transition, Education & Employment (CITEE), strive to lessen our environmental impact.
Focusing on the health and well-being of those we serve includes refining our environmental and ecological practices.
Therefore, we are consciously reducing our ecological impact by:
- Encouraging waste reduction practices, including, but not limited to:
- Bringing your own items, when possible (e.g., water bottle, pens)
- Reducing branded materials or “swag,” while still providing options for focus and sensory regulation
- Providing resources and materials electronically
- This also creates access for people who use large font and screen readers
- Those without digital access or who prefer printed materials, please speak with a CITEE team member
“Intersectional environmentalism acknowledges the overlap between systemic harm against Black, Indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC) communities and the Earth.
The movement also recognizes the disproportionate effects of climate change on other marginalized groups, including people with disabilities as well as women and gender minorities.”
- Leah Thomas, Intersectional Environmentalist
Intersectional Environmentalist is a 501(c)(3) is a climate justice collective radically imagining a more equitable + diverse future of environmentalism.
We’d love your support in these important initiatives, as our ecological practices disproportionately affect marginalized groups.
Therefore, please use the checklist below and strive to bring the following with you to Now Is The Time 2022
