QTT Grants Program – Workgroup Focusing on the Development of and Organizational Readiness for Deaf and Hard of Hearing QTTs
Grant recipients would commit to participating in at least two 3-hour collaborative stakeholder group meetings in April-May 2022. The focus of the workgroup is to identify current needs and barriers to hiring and supervising Qualified Treatment Trainees (QTTs) with communication-related accommodation needs with a focus on two priority areas 1) Identify key issues, preparatory activities, and best practices for hiring and supervising a Deaf/HoH clinician in a clinical mental health setting 2) Develop an organizational readiness self-assessment tool (based on existing tools) for hiring and supervising Deaf/HoH QTTs.
Awards ($80,000 in awards available)
- Agencies ($20,000): A organization currently providing mental health services with a goal of hiring and supervising a Qualified Treatment Trainee (QTT) with a need for communications-related accommodations (specifically an individual who is deaf or hard of hearing).
- Individuals ($4,500): An individual who advocates for or is affiliated with the Deaf or Hard of Hearing population, and is able to provide expertise and/or lived experience informing the work of an agency described above.
