Amy Thomson is currently the WI-WIOA DVR Communications Lead, a Career Interviewer, and an Associate Outreach Specialist at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. As a Career Interviewer, she meets with people who have disabilities working in subminimum wage employment to share job information and community resources, as required under the federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act. She also provides support and planning for other projects and conferences as needed. 

Amy has been working with people who have disabilities since 1997, with specific areas of interest including work incentive benefits planning, asset development strategies, and increasing employment opportunities. Past experience includes being a Work Incentive Benefits Specialist & Trainer in Wisconsin, an Employment Policy Analyst as a contrated University of Wisconsin-Stout employee for the Department of Health Services, and job coaching.

Amy graduated from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and went on to earn a Masters of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
