General

Now is the Time takes place at the University of Wisconsin - Whitewater.

This 2-day conference will take place Tuesday, August 13th and Wednesday, August 14th.

This conference is 2 days long and lasts through the majority of each day (about 8 AM - 4:30 PM).

The conference is completely free, however; there may be additional fees for CEU's

While all people are invited to attend this conference, our main focus in on those who are immediately related to mental health and mental health practices. This includes mental health professionals, counselors, social workers, educators, advocates, family members, and individuals with a mental health diagnosis or need.

Breakfast, lunch, and snacks will be provided at no cost.

We will be serving breakfast, lunch and snacks with dietary restrictive options such as gluten free, dairy free, etc. If you have any other dietary concerns, feel free to send us an email at nowisthetime@uww.edu.

We have a list of hotels here that will have a block for the Now is the Time Conference and Regional Trainings.

Business casual is the ideal attire.

We will update our website as more information is available and will send out a full schedule closer to the conference dates to all registered attendees.

If there is an unexpected change in the schedule, you will be contacted immediately through the email address you provided during your registration process.

All sessions are voluntary and do not require attendance. However, if you plan to get a CEU while attending this conference, you MUST attend each session in order to receive certification.

Please send us your request for cancellation as soon as you realize you are unable to attend to nowisthetime@uww.edu so that we may remove you from the attendee list and confirm your cancellation.

Staff will be available during the event if you have an immediate concern or complaint. A follow-up survey will be provided after the conference where you will be able to vent any complaints you had during the conference. While we will have some breakout sessions this year, we are changing the format to include main speaker sessions with workgroups to follow.

The last day to register will be July 26th by 5PM.

CEUs will be available from this conference if the requirements were met by the participant.  These can be found in the FAQ's list under "CEUs"

Presenters

Unfortunately we are no longer accepting proposals to present at the 2019 Now is the Time Conference.

Presenters are not guaranteed any payment, but they may receive a stipend.

Proposals will be accepted until close of business on July 8th, 2019.

You may submit more than one topic for the breakout sessions, however; we will review and accept the topics that we feel will fit our conference theme/needs the best. This could mean you will present on more than one topic or not at all.

Presenters will be notified at least three weeks prior to the conference if their proposal will be accepted.

The topic you were asked to present on should stay the same and we will not accept any major changes to the topic areas. If you have any minor changes or questions about what should be included, please send us an email at nowisthetime@uww.edu and we will review the changes and inform you of what will be accepted.

Please have your presentation on PowerPoint emailed to us at nowisthetime@uww.edu for us to set up at the conference.

You will be presenting in a classroom setting with a computer and projector available. Any other props you plan on bringing need to be approved by us.

Accommodations

Gluten and vegan options will be available at every meal. Each meal item will also have place cards with ingredients and allergens listed for those with food allergies.

All of our campus buildings are accessible, including ramps and elevators. Our larger rooms and auditoriums are equipped with speakers for those hard of hearing. If you have any further concerns or specific needs, please contact us at nowisthetime@uww.edu.

There will be multiple stations set up for pumping. The stations are seperate, individual rooms for maximum privacy.

We are anticipating offering CEUs, more information will be available when we have finished working out details on accrediting them.

CEUs

Yes, Continuing Education certificates (CEUs) will be provided to conference attendees who attend all sessions and complete a post-event survey.

Now is the Time 2019 Events are in the process of completing the CEU certification. When this is complete, the number of available CEUs will be posted to our website.

CEUs will be available for pickup at the end of the last day of the event. After completing a post-event survey, a completion code will be provided. Please write the code on the back of slip provided with your name tag and be ready to turn in the slip or provide the code to a staff member. CEUs will be picked up at the designated table in Hyland Hall between 4:00 PM and 4:30 PM on August 14, 2019.

If you do not pick up your CEU during the scheduled time, you will need to provide verification of your attendance and evaluation completion to Continuing Education Services at cesevents@uww.edu or 262-472-3165. There will also be a processing fee of $25 for all CEU requests after 4:30 PM on August 14, 2019.

All CEUs are complimentary as a part of the funding provided by the Wisconsin Department of Health Services. In order to receive these CEUs at no charge, participants must complete the following

  • Complete a conference registration no later than August 5, 2019 noting that CEUs have been requested

  • Attend all sessions on August 13 and August 14, 2019

  • Complete the pre-event survey that will be sent electronically prior to August 13, 2019

  • Complete the post-event survey that will be sent electronically at the end of the conference on August 14, 2019 and note the survey completion code on the back of the provided CEU completion slip
