A few years ago two students took the initiative and started a college fishing club here at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Their goal was to bring together students who enjoyed fishing. In the last couple of years, college bass fishing has become very popular and our club has become more like a team. We compete on the national college bass fishing stage. (collegebass.com)
However, the UW-Whitewater Fishing Team welcomes all anglers. We focus on bass fishing, but are open to any type of fishing which include; walleye, musky, salmon, fly fishing and much more. If tournaments aren’t your thing don’t worry, we provide fishing opportunities to everyone. You don't need fishing equipment or a boat because that’s what the club is for. You will meet people with a boat that will be willing to take you out. Other Wisconsin universities are in the process of forming clubs and we hope to be able to compete regularly with these clubs in the coming years. This is all made possible by some of the great sponsors we have backing us including, St. Croix Rods, Jiffy, Mercury, Power Pro, Gary Yamamoto, Dick Smiths, and more.
Our Meetings are usually the first Wednesday of every month in the Williams center, but the room is always due to change. Contact Paul Taylor for more information and meeting times.
