<p>UWW encourages and supports principal investigators, staff and students to understand policies and procedures related to research that involves human subjects. Before undertaking a research project, investigators, staff and students must determine if the planned activity is human subjects research.</p> <p>Research projects that involve human subjects will require review by the university Institutional Review Board (IRB) for the Protection of Human Subjects to determine if a researcher has employed adequate measures to protect the participants involved in the research of study. Only the IRB is allowed to decide if a project is exempt.
