  <AccordionContent type="xhtml" UID="ed5e88e9bb80fbe415ae864e2b98fab5" label="Accordion Content" readonly="false" hidden="false" required="false" indexable="false" openByDefault="false" CharacterLimit="" Height="" CIID="">&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Wynett Barnett Theatre Scholarship&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The candidate must have been active in the theatre or dance program and have at least a sophomore standing during the school year the award is made. The recipient must enroll at UW-Whitewater and be active in the theatre or dance program in the year following the award. The scholarship will be made with no consideration as to the sex of the recipient.&lt;br /&gt;Normally, there will be awards given each year, for the following:&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;ol&gt;
&lt;li&gt;OUTSTANDING ALL AROUND STUDENT based on his/her participation in all areas of the departmental activities.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE as evidenced by the quality of his/her acting in a variety of roles.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;OUTSTANDING TECHNICAL ABILITY as evidenced by his/her participation in a variety of technical areas excluding the area of costuming.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;OUTSTANDING ABILITY IN THE AREA OF COSTUMING as evidenced by his/her work in this area.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;OUTSTANDING ABILITY IN THE AREA OF DANCE as evidenced by his/her performance in this area.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ol&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Theatre Alumni Award&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Current freshman who will be continuing at UW-Whitewater. Minimum grade point average of 3.0. Significant participation in activities of the department.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Margo and Scott Trentadue Scholarship&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This award is given to a theatre major on the basis of excellent scholarship and outstanding performance and/or service in their activities.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;The Fred Sederholm Theatre Writing Award&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Students may submit materials independently. The award is available to any student registered for a theatre course for credit during the academic year. Any types of revised or finished writing which represents a student's best critical and/or creative writing skill will be considered. Examples might include research papers, essays, expository writing, criticism or original creative writing including play-writing. Students may submit materials independently, or their work might be recommended by a faculty member.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Fannie Hicklin Theatre Education Endowed Award&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The award is intended to be given annually, depending upon the availability of qualified applicants. The applicant must be an upper-division theatre education student (junior/senior standing). An application form must be submitted. Applicants are expected to be well-rounded in the areas that comprise the theatre education major (i.e. performance, technical). The applicant must have a GPA in Theatre of at least 3.0.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Gene and Anne Wilson Endowed Theatre Scholarship (separate application)&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The GPA requirement is a 3.25 in theater classes and a 2.75 overall GPA. The recipient shall have distinguished himself or herself both academically and by displaying strong potential for a successful career in theater. The applicant must have demonstrated substantive work in all aspects of theater department production. Preference will be given to theater majors entering their senior year with consideration also given to theater majors entering their junior year. Preference will be given to tech/design students. If no tech/design student qualifies, consideration will be given to all other theater majors.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;UW-Whitewater Performing Arts Trust Fund&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The scholarship will be given to a student with superior achievement with a 3.0 GPA in the Theatre/Dance department and a 2.5 overall GPA. Departmental award given to Theatre/Dance major/minors at end of their sophomore, junior or continuing senior year. A student who has consistently demonstrated superior achievement in any area of the department.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Theatre/Dance Design Scholarship&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Students will be considered for the scholarship if they will be continuing as a freshman, sophomore, junior or senior theatre major in the following fall semester. Students applying for the scholarship must submit a completed application that includes:&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;ol&gt;
&lt;li&gt;A nominating letter of support from a Theatre/Dance Department faculty or staff member,&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;A resum&amp;eacute; of theatre design and related work,&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;Portfolio examples representative of the student's design work, and&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;A recent Academic Record (AR) verifying overall GPA.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ol&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Overall GPA of 2.75 or higher. (Once this threshold has been met, GPA shall not be a factor in further consideration of applicants.) The following factors shall be considered in evaluating the relative merit of applicants and in making final decision: The chief criterion to be considered in evaluating applicants shall be how much the design work of each applicant illustrates his/her genuine promise as a designer in the theatre. Additional criterion to be considered shall include:the applicant's work ethic in achieving the designs and the applicant's pursuit of excellence in the work and the applicant's positive contribution toward the study and production work of the Theatre/Dance Department.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Any and all design areas in theatre shall receive equal consideration. On a yearly basis, at the adjudicators' discretion, realized work may or may not carry more weight than project designs. No consideration of race, sex, religion or economic need will be used in determining the award. The selection committee shall be the Theatre/Dance Department Design/Technical faculty and staff.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Sally Marks Scholarship&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The recipient(s) must be of junior status and declared their major in programs within the&amp;nbsp; Theatre/Dance Department. The recipient(s) must have maintained an overall 2.70 grade point average while at UW-Whitewater and be enrolled full-time.&amp;nbsp; The recipient(s) must have demonstrated financial need. A preference will be given to students who have been active in on-campus theatre productions as&amp;nbsp; a student. A preference will be given to female students. At least 3 current students who have declared their major may receive the scholarship in any given year.&lt;/p&gt;</AccordionContent>
