Supporting our transfer students <p> </p> <p><img src="images/admissions/transfer/transfer_body.jpg" alt="A student in a blue blazer works on a computer in a classroom." width="100%" /></p> <p> </p> <p>Each year, we help students from about 200 other schools, colleges and universities across the state and country transfer to UW-Whitewater. In addition to a dedicated admissions counselor with expertise in transferring colleges, UW-Whitewater prepares new students for success, no matter what class year you’re in when you join us.</p> <p>This starts with <span><a href="/fye/students/soar">Warhawks SOAR</a> (Student Orientation, Advising and Registration). You’ll spend a day with us getting to know UW-Whitewater, your academic advisor, and other friendly faces from around campus, as well as register for classes.</span></p> <p>At the start of the semester, you’ll also attend <a href="/fye/students/warhawk-welcome">Warhawk Welcome</a>, an evening event where you’ll learn about campus resources, connect with other transfer students, and meet your peer mentor.</p> <p>Other transfer student-friendly programs include:</p> <ul> <li><a href="/fye/fye-student-employment">Team Transfer</a> — student orientation leaders and peer mentors who serve as guides and role models for students transferring to UW-Whitewater</li> <li><a href="/fye/students/new-student-seminar">Transfer Student Seminar</a> — a for-credit course to help you adjust to UW-Whitewater, prepare for classroom success, and discover more about yourself as a student and citizen</li> <li><a href="/fye/students/student-awards">Outstanding Freshman and Transfer Student Award</a> — recognition and $500 scholarship for new students who experience UW-Whitewater to the fullest during their first year on campus</li> </ul> true Arrow
