Set up your UW-Whitewater Credentials
<p>Newly admitted Warhawks should first set up their UW-Whitewater Net-ID and password with Okta. Your Net-ID allows you to access most web systems at UW-Whitewater, including WINS. WINS is where you will view and accept financial aid and scholarship offers, and register for Warhawks SOAR orientation. </p>
<p>To do so, navigate to the email account used to apply to UW-Whitewater. Follow the link in an email from noreply@okta.com to set your password. You will select "Activate Okta account" and follow all necessary steps. If you do not find the email or the link has expired, contact the IT Help Desk at 262-472-4357 or at <a href="mailto:helpdesk@uww.edu">helpdesk@uww.edu</a>.</p>
Start your housing contract
<p>The fall housing application is available starting Oct. 1, 2026. Due to the high demand for on-campus housing, we recommend you submit the online housing application and contract, and the $125 housing deposit, as soon as you are able.Your housing deposit is fully refundable until May 1, 2027. Completing the housing application will allow you to tell us what you're looking for in a residence hall, choose your dining plan, and indicate your interest in a residential parking permit and learning community participation. Complete the 2027-28 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
<p>The Free Application for Federal Student Aid is an accessible source of financial support for incoming students. This form is available for any student, regardless of income, who wants to be considered for federal, state, and school financial aid programs. This includes grants, scholarships, work-study funds, and loans. You do not need to have completed your housing contract in order to file your FAFSA. Visit <a href="https://www.uww.edu/financialaid">Financial Aid</a> for more information.</p>
Register for Warhawks SOAR
<p>Warhawks SOAR (Student Orientation, Advising, and Registration) is your required orientation where you will learn more about university life, meet with academic advisors, and register for your classes. Warhawks SOAR registration is available starting Feb. 1, 2027, in your WINS account. As part of your commitment to attending UW-Whitewater, you will be prompted to pay a $100 enrollment deposit once you complete the registration process.<br />Visit <a href="/fye">First Year Experience</a> for more information.</p>
Prepare for course placement and registration
<p>Students are placed into math and English courses based on ACT, SAT, or placement exam scores. You do not need to have your placement testing completed to register for Warhawks SOAR, but it is in your best interest to have completed your placement testing two weeks prior to your Warhawks SOAR program date. The <a href="https://www.uww.edu/testing/placement-testing">Testing Center</a> has more information about course placement requirements and placement testing.</p>
