Winter commencement set for Dec. 14

CommencementProud Warhawk graduates and their families will gather at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater for the winter commencement ceremony on Saturday, Dec. 14.

Students will begin their march to the sounds of "Pomp and Circumstance" at 10 a.m. in Kachel Fieldhouse.

Michael Mifflin, a media arts and game development major from Sun Prairie, is this year's student speaker.

Margaret Farrow, a member of the University of Wisconsin System Board of Regents and Wisconsin's first female lieutenant governor, is the featured speaker.

The Registrar's Office lists 832 graduates, including 111 from the College of Arts and Communication; 171 from the College of Business and Economics; 209 from the College of Education and Professional Studies; 250 from the College of Letters and Sciences; and 91 master's degree recipients from the School of Graduate Studies and Continuing Education.

Thirty military veterans and 26 international students are among the graduates, as are 54 students who used Center for Students with Disabilities services.
