A date with an international plate

February 10, 2014

menuEvery now and then we all have that sudden urge to pack up and see the world. At UW-Whitewater's International Dinner on Friday, Feb. 28, anybody can experience the flavors of ten different cultures without leaving campus.

International students selected recipes for the event, which will be prepared by Chartwells. The event will also feature a variety of student-produced entertainment, including singing, dancing, poetry recital, an Olympic tribute, video presentation and raffle.

"It's an opportunity for non-international students to recognize, learn about and engage with international students," said Nana Maiga, a junior at UW-Whitewater. "Don't be scared to come and experience."

The theme of this year's dinner is "People, Places and Reflections," inspired by a photo contest for international students and study abroad participants.

The dinner will take place in Hamilton Room in the James R. Connor University Center. A cash bar opens at 5:30 p.m. and the dinner will begin at 6:15 p.m.

Tickets are $13 for students and $20 for the public. They can be purchased at the University Center information desk or the Greenhill Center of the Arts box office, by phone at 262-472-2222, or online at tickets.uww.edu. The online purchase will include a $3 convenience charge.
