Kudos to Sang Choi, professor of occupational and environmental safety and health, who will participate as a judge at the 2023 General Donald R. Keith Memorial Capstone Conference in the United States Military Academy at West Point on May 4. Choi also serves as a judge on the Best Presentation and Paper awards in the process modeling and analysis track and selection of the SISE top-three paper awards.  Read more »

Kudos to Eric Loepp, associate professor of politics, law, and government, and Will Hinz, communication major, who have a new report about the pandemic teaching and learning experience that has been published by the Online Learning Consortium. Presented as a dialogue between a faculty member and student evaluating the results of a survey administered to students at the peak of the pandemic, the project identifies strategies for successful teaching and learning in a post-pandemic world. Kudos to Dr. Pilar Melero, Professor of Spanish and Coordinator of World Languages and Cultures and of Race and Ethnic Studies has three peer-reviewed publications that appeared in the latest issue (13) of Puentes: Revista méxico-chicana de literatura, cultura, y arte: "Durangueses en el Midwest" (essay), "La higuera" (short-story) and "Los ecos alados de mis muertos" (poetry). Congratulations to John Klinger for being named the Beloit Rotary Teacher of the Month. Klinger has taught freshman and sophomore level engineering courses at UW-Whitewater at Rock County for the past 11 years. In 2018 he received the Kaplan Award for outstanding contributions to students, and in 2021 he was nominated for the Excellence Award for Academic Staff.
