Kudos to the Human Resources Department and Stephanie Hartmann, human resource manager of benefits, FMLA and wellness, for being recognized for demonstrating excellence and innovation in employee well-being at the Well Wisconsin Awards Celebration on Wednesday, Feb. 1. Stephanie was recognized for her innovative implementation of the Healthbot Wellness Station for employees to use to track their blood pressure, weight and BMI. Stephanie also helped the university kick off the academic year with Zach Mercurio’s presentation “Creating a Culture Where Everyone Matters.” This messaging continues to be used in department training and workshops across campus and helps employees continue to feel important, valued, and that they matter. Kudos to Piper Morgan Hayes, dance lecturer, who presented her solo dance “Things Done, Things To Come, Things Left Undone” at the Breaking Ground Dance Festival in January and at the Solo/Duo Dance Festival on Feb. 10. Kudos to Lauren Smith, professor in the Adult Student Learning Department, who recently published the findings of a research study conducted with co-writer Diane Treis Rusk showing the impact of credit for prior learning by portfolio on adult learners.
