UW-Whitewater to host national wheelchair basketball championship
 
The finest wheelchair basketball athletes from around the nation will travel to UW-Whitewater on March 16-18 for the National Wheelchair Basketball Association men’s intercollegiate championships.

All games will take place in Kachel Gym in the Williams Center. Seeding and matchups are expected to be determined the week of March 6 and will be posted on the tournament website.

Kudos to Kristin Fillhouer, associate dean of enrollment and student affairs on the Rock County campus, for being selected as the Educator of the Year by Forward Janesville Inc. All honorees will be recognized on April 5 at Forward Janesville 22nd Annual Awards Luncheon at Glen Erin Golf Club.

Kudos to Jo Ann Oravec, professor of information technology and supply chain management, who will be presenting a paper on March 17 titled "Robots, AI, and Violence: Intelligent Entities as Symbols of and Triggers for Human Aggression" at the Trauma and Nightmares International Interdisciplinary Conference to be held virtually. Kudos to Chelsea Newman, interim director of the Children’s Center, Jennalee Johnson, program enrichment and staff support at the Children’s Center, and Katie Check, toddler lead teacher at the Children’s Center, for representing the state of Wisconsin and the Children's Center at the National Association for the Education of Young Children Public Policy Forum. The trio traveled to Washington, D.C. for the forum and then headed to Capitol Hill to meet with our members of Congress. Read more »

All are welcome! Free spaghetti meals are offered 5-6 p.m., every Monday at the Congregational United Church of Christ in Whitewater. You may pick up the meal at the 133 S. Franklin Street entrance. If you need more than one meal to get you through the week, you are welcome to more meals.
 
 
 
The Community Space
