UW-Whitewater awarded $378,400 to support seniors’ use of technology
The Wisconsin Department of Health Services has awarded the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater $378,400 to support the technology needs of regional older adults and people who have disabilities. The grant funds the newly opened, Intergenerational Technology Services, where college students will provide free technology services to community members in four counties in southeastern Wisconsin.

Governor Evers visits campus
Governor Tony Evers visited UW-Whitewater on Sept. 6 and toured Winther Hall, which recently was awarded $3 million in state funding to complete a redesign for major renovation. He also visited the Children’s Center in the Roseman Building, speaking with Chancellor Corey A. King and Chelsea Newman, the center’s director, about the outstanding services UW-Whitewater provides and the strong demand for quality childcare services and personnel.

UW-Whitewater kicked off the academic year on Monday with a notable contribution from incoming freshmen. First-year students, along with new transfer enrollees, were given the opportunity to adorn the campus's Warhawk Drive with the university's signature color, purple. This semester, the university welcomes a total of 11,000 students, including those on the Rock County campus.

The Wall, which runs Sept. 25-Oct. 20, will feature works by Iva Sidash, a Ukrainian documentary photographer who has been capturing the unfolding Russian invasion in her homeland.

Starting at 9 a.m. Sept.19, students will need to use MFA with Duo along with their Net-ID at login as an additional layer of security to reduce ransomware attacks and phishing scams. Student League Sign Up Deadline
Sign up before Wednesday, Sept. 20, for the student bowling league! The league begins Sept. 24 and goes through Nov. 12. Students can sign up online at uww.edu/warhawkalley. The traditional league plays Sunday nights at 5 p.m., and the cosmic league plays Sunday nights at 7 p.m. in Warhawk Alley. Prizes will be awarded to the top teams!

Please submit your work for consideration to this year’s Juried Student Art Exhibition at the Crossman Gallery. Applications due Sept. 18! Artwork will be selected by a regional artist, who will also determine the prize winners: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places, media-specific awards, and honorable mentions. Awards will be announced at the reception in the Crossman Gallery on Thursday, Oct. 19.
