UW-Whitewater awarded $378,400 to support seniors’ use of technology
 
The Wisconsin Department of Health Services has awarded the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater $378,400 to support the technology needs of regional older adults and people who have disabilities. The grant funds the newly opened, Intergenerational Technology Services, where college students will provide free technology services to community members in four counties in southeastern Wisconsin.

Governor Evers visits campus
 
Governor Tony Evers visited UW-Whitewater on Sept. 6 and toured Winther Hall, which recently was awarded $3 million in state funding to complete a redesign for major renovation. He also visited the Children’s Center in the Roseman Building, speaking with Chancellor Corey A. King and Chelsea Newman, the center’s director, about the outstanding services UW-Whitewater provides and the strong demand for quality childcare services and personnel.

UW-Whitewater kicked off the academic year on Monday with a notable contribution from incoming freshmen. First-year students, along with new transfer enrollees, were given the opportunity to adorn the campus's Warhawk Drive with the university's signature color, purple. This semester, the university welcomes a total of 11,000 students, including those on the Rock County campus.
