UW-Whitewater hosted a record number of camps and conference participants over the summer of 2023 — more than 6,740 people, the most since the university began hosting campers in 1973.

As UW-Whitewater marks the beginning of a new academic year, both campuses are welcoming more students than in recent years.

Global Experiences Fair
 
The university’s Global Experiences Fair will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 20, outside on the North Wyman Mall between Hyland Hall and the UC. This once-a-semester event is meant to inform students of many available international opportunities such as exchange programs, international student teaching/internships, international volunteering, and opportunities to study abroad!

Identity-based organization information night

 
At 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 20, the University Center’s Warhawk Connection Center will be holding an identity-based organization information night. This event will be an informal meet and greet for students, staff, and our Warhawk Connection Center e-board members. This will be very similar to the recent involvement fair, but more intimate and focused. Each organization has planned to speak before everyone is encouraged to walk around and learn more about each organization.

Music Mosaics: Faculty Showcase
 
The Music Mosaics series begins on Saturday, Sept. 23, at 7:30 p.m. in Light Recital Hall with the talents of the entire Department of Music performance faculty together on stage. Join us for an evening of piano, voice, strings, brass, woodwinds, percussion, and jazz. Department of Music events are free for UWW students with their HawkCard. #10 Volleyball sets up two @ home

#10 Volleyball has some big-time matches on campus this week, both in the Kris Russell Volleyball Area in the Williams Center. The first is a match with #3 UW-Oshkosh at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 20. Fans can expect a highly competitive and closely contested match between these two volleyball powerhouses. Also this week is Augustana — who is receiving top-25 votes and is undefeated at 6-0 — at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 22. UW-Whitewater currently holds a five-game win streak on Augustana, with their last match being in 2017. If not able to make it, all games will be live on UWWTV.

Sign up before Wednesday, Sept. 20, for the Student Bowling League! The league begins Sept. 24 and goes through Nov. 12. Students can sign up online at uww.edu/warhawkalley. The traditional league plays Sunday nights at 5 p.m. and the cosmic league plays Sunday nights at 7 p.m. Both play in Warhawk Alley. Prizes will be awarded to the top teams!
