Fall Hawk Career Fair
Discover internships and full-time job prospects at this Fall Hawk Career Fair, which takes place 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 4, in the Williams Center. More than 170 employers will be there with opportunities to both students and alumni. Faculty and staff members are also encouraged to network with these employers. CORRECTED DATE: Sexual Health Carnival
This event, described as "sex education for college students," offers a valuable opportunity to explore topics relevant to the demographic. Last year's survey revealed that 96% of participants reported acquiring new knowledge! In addition to informative sessions spanning various subjects, the event will feature free food and beverages and recreational activities such as games and raffles. Miniature ponies will also make a return appearance. We encourage attendees to bring their questions and their curiosity and to extend an invitation to a friend. Join us on Wednesday, Oct. 4, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Ambrose Health Center.

Kudos to Nick Hwang, professor of communication who teaches media arts and game development, co-led a workshop at Ars Electronica 2023 in Linz, Austria. Kudos to Jo Ann Oravec, professor of information technology and supply chain management, virtually presented a paper, “The Most Terrible Poverty is Loneliness: Implications of Digital, Physical, and Monetary Hoarding for Loneliness,” at the 5th Loneliness International Interdisciplinary Conference at the University of Poland. Kudos to the UW-Whitewater Epsilon Rho Chapter of Beta Alpha Psi, an accounting honors organization, and faculty advisor Jodi Gissel for attaining superior status for the 2022-2023 year. The chapter achieved this status through excellence in professional development and service activities, supporting both the campus and local Whitewater communities.
Kudos to Tom Ness, facilities technician, who leads energy conservation efforts on the Rock County campus. According to the latest copy of the Energy Use in State-Owned Facilities Report, the Rock County campus was able to reduce its energy use by nearly 29% in fiscal year 2022 compared to the 2005 baseline. The campus emitted 55% less carbon dioxide equivalent emissions to the atmosphere than it did in 2005.

#4 Football welcomes La Crosse
The Warhawks host UW-La Crosse at Perkins Stadium this Saturday, Oct. 7, at 1 p.m. as part of Family Fest on the UW-Whitewater campus. Both teams have a long history of competitive matchups, with the Warhawks holding the advantage in recent years with a 16-game win streak. UW-La Crosse looks to turn an upset and secure a victory on enemy turf. With the previous game between these two teams ending in a close 34-31 win for the Warhawks, the stage is set for an intense and thrilling contest on the football field. The game will be streamed live on UWW-TV and Radio 105.9 FM The Hog.
