Even more $500 winners to be chosen
Thanks to a generous donation from alumnus Ron MBA`89 and Jo Jadin, UW-Whitewater will provide additional awards to students who have been fully vaccinated and reported their vaccination to the university — 12 $500 winners will be chosen over the next two weeks.
Congrats to this week's winner, Carissa Blum, media arts and game development major, from Brodhead, Wisconsin!
And don't forget, UW System has announced that COVID-19-vaccinated students who attend universities that achieve at least 70 percent vaccination rates by Oct. 15 will be eligible to win one of 70 scholarships valued at $7,000 each. Help us keep our Warhawk family safe and healthy by getting vaccinated if you are able.

UW-Whitewater professor helps discover ‘break’ in one of the Milky Way’s spiral arms
Astronomers have discovered a structure of stars and gas sticking out of the Milky Way Galaxy that is around 3,000 light-years long. Robert Benjamin, professor of physics, co-authored the research paper outlining the discovery. He said, "This structure is a small piece of the Milky Way, but it could tell us something significant about the galaxy as a whole."

Campus Kudos
|
|
Kudos to Heather Dennis, UW-Whitewater annual fund manager, who presented to “SWAG,” a group of peers from public and private universities in Wisconsin on July 28. Her presentation, titled “Hanging up on the Phonathon,” gave an insightful and data-driven narrative on how UW-Whitewater successfully shifted from outsourcing annual fundraising efforts.
