COVID-19 Ridership Requirements

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, please observe the following expectations and additional efforts:

  • No Face Covering, No Ride:  All passengers or drivers in university vehicles are required to wear a face covering, unless provided a medical exemption by the Center for Students with Disabilities or the ADA Coordinator with Human Resources and Diversity.  These exemptions must be communicated directly to shuttlebus@uww.edu by the responsible unit to be valid.
  • Boarding:  Move to the rear of the bus after boarding to allow easier loading of passengers.
  • Alternate Seating:  We ask all passengers to observe alternate seating to promote social distancing, even if another passenger is a roommate or other close contact.  Do not sit next to other individuals.  Seats will be marked in some vehicles to help guide your choices.
  • Sanitizing and Settling:  Do not board the vehicle until instructed by the driver.  Our drivers are asked to perform sanitation procedures after each route of high-touch surfaces and ventilate the vehicle as much as possible to let any particles in the air settle.  Additional sanitization supplies and disposable face coverings will be provided for passenger use if needed.

Other Important Schedule and Route Considerations

  • Schedules are subject to change as needed and without notice, so please refer to this website regularly to ensure consistency.  Riders can also opt-in to the Shuttle Announcements by contacting the Shuttle email.
  • Shuttle service is available Mon-Fri during Fall and Spring semesters. There will be no bus shuttle service during Spring Break, Winter Break, or Summer Break or on any State of Wisconsin legal holidays.
  • Times listed below are departure times; arrival times will vary depending on each individual stop and external conditions such as weather or traffic.
  • Riders should expect to arrive at least five minutes before scheduled times and coordinate timekeeping with the vehicle's onboard clock to ensure you do not miss departures.
  • Departure times, routes, and stops cannot be modified to meet individual requests unless approved by shuttle supervisors in advance and communicated directly to drivers.

Riding Tips

  • Access to the shuttles are verified by presenting your Hawk Card upon driver request and following any additional authentication procedures.  Riders will need to register in advance using the registration form.
  • Wait at designated stops only. For your safety, buses may only be boarded at these designated stops. Since other people may be waiting for a different bus, please be attentive for your shuttle.
  • Move to the rear of the shuttle bus after boarding to allow easier loading of passengers.
  • DO NOT stand forward of the white line in the front of the shuttle bus. This is a federal safety regulation to allow the driver a clear field of vision.
  • DO NOT cross in front of the bus after exiting. Wait until the bus has pulled away from the designated stop and you have a clear field of vision before crossing the street.
  • Non-Transportable Items - The shuttle bus service does NOT allow transport of:
    • flammable liquids
    • dangerous, toxic, or poisonous substances
    • storage batteries, chemicals, acid, or alkalis
    • fishing rods (unless broken down and hooks removed)
    • ski poles (unless secured)
    • The shuttle driver may use discretion to deny transport of any other item deemed hazardous.
  • Non-Permitted Activities or Possessions:
    • Smoking/E-cigarettes
    • Alcohol or Drug Possession or Use
    • Possession of weapons or anything reasonably perceived to be a weapon
