Kari Kraenzler

Kari Kraenzler is the Co-Music Director of the Milwaukee Community String Orchestra and Co-Founder and Associate Conductor of the Milwaukee Community Orchestra which was established in 2024. From 2006-2024, she was the Associate Conductor of the UWM University Community Orchestra, establishing herself as a distinguished conductor and educator in Milwaukee's vibrant music community.
A versatile and dynamic musician, Ms. Kraenzler has performed as a flute soloist and guest conductor with ensembles throughout the United States. In 2024, she was appointed Principal Guest Conductor of both the German Chamber Orchestra of England and the Drury Lane Orchestra in London. She has also conducted the San Francisco based TACO Orchestra in San Francisco. In February 2018, she made her Pacific Northwest conducting debut as a finalist in the Saratoga Chamber Orchestra Guest Artist Series. Recently, Ms. Kraenzler was named as a national finalist for the American Prize in Conducting - Community Orchestra Division.
An integral figure in Milwaukee's music community since 1999, Ms. Kraenzler holds a Master of Arts from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (2006). Under her leadership, ensembles have achieved national recognition for their expressive interpretations and technical excellence. Passionate about community orchestras, she is dedicated to creating inspiring musical experiences and nurturing artistic growth locally and internationally. Ms. Kraenzler has pursued advanced conducting studies through workshops in Paris, London, New York City, New Hampshire, and Maine, studying under esteemed mentors Margery Deutsch, Kenneth Kiesler, and Diane Wittry.
