This is a community for students interested in careers in biology, chemistry, and environmental science as well as preparation for professional health programs in medicine, physical therapy, physician assistant, veterinary medicine and more.

Whether you like the scientific study of living things, the properties and behavior of matter or a combination of these, Covalent Bonds can connect you with other young scientists wanting to study these same passions.

Outcomes

• Explore the possibilities, from major exploration and academic resources to the many STEM related opportunities beyond the classroom.

Thinking about majoring in Psychology? Want to learn more about why people do what they do? If you are interested in the field of psychology, you can learn, study, live, and have fun with other first year students as you explore answers to these and other questions. Through this Learning Community, you will have opportunities to connect with other students in psychology and build relationships with faculty members across campus. Learn more about what you can do with a degree in psychology and how best to prepare yourself for future career goals.

This learning community is designed for first-year students interested in exploring law and criminal justice as potential majors and careers.

The common theme that will be woven through each of the classes is the role of law and the legal system in society. Guest speakers working in related fields will be invited to interact with members of the learning community, and field trips are planned. The UW-Whitewater Pre-Law advisor is one of the faculty members teaching in this learning community. The learning community is available to anyone considering a career in law or criminal justice, including students in Legal Studies, Pre-Law, Sociology/Criminal Justice, and Business Law. You do not have to declare one of the majors listed above to participate.

This is a community for students interested in exploring computer science, cybersecurity, or artificial intelligence as a major or related minors.

"Thinking in Code" will allow first year student to connect with other students who are passionate about computer science. Students will have opportunities to get involved in community-wide activities that will provide life-long learning skills and ease the transition from high school to college. Students in this Learning Community will have opportunities to connect with other students in computer science majors and build relationships with faculty members. Learn more about what you can do with a degree in computer science and how best to prepare yourself for future career goals. Your academic advisor will also help you connect with your department to learn about the rich and varied opportunities that are available, including research and internships.

• You can live with anyone who is in Fischer Hall (including other students in LCs housed in Fischer Hall)

• Students majoring/minoring in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or Artificial Intelligence and undeclared students with an interest in Computer Science
