Our learning community is designed for students who want to get the most out of their college experience – who want to be “more than a major”.

We will explore the many and varied opportunities that UW-Whitewater offers you to discover your interests, take advantage of your strengths, connect with others, help you understand and address your challenges and develop your own unique academic and personal goals. Join us and become more than a major.

• You can live with anyone who has a room assignment in Wells West Hall.

If you meet the requirements of joining the honors program on campus, you can have the opportunity to join the Honors Advantage or Honors Enrichment Learning Communities!

As a member of this group, you will be guaranteed registration for Honors courses, get a head start on undergraduate research, actively participate in service learning projects, learn leadership skills, and much, much more!  Students in the Honors Advantage Learning Community live together, take some of their courses together, and help plan different activities the group will participate in throughout their Freshman year. Joining this Learning Community will expose students to upperclassmen who have been members of the Honors Learning Community, allow for an opportunity to have direct contact with the Director of the Honors program, and have a passionate faculty coordinator who sincerely cares about the success of each student!

• You can live with anyone who has a room assignment in Arey Hall

This learning community engages freshman scholars in their personal and academic development. Learn more about the Forward Scholars Program here!

The Forward Scholars Learning Community is a core group of students that live in the residence halls together, take courses together, and participate in a variety of community-building activities. The Forward Scholars learning community promotes academic and cultural development as well as positive networking skills. Scholars engage in a variety of activities including trips to Chicago, attending theatrical events, group study nights, and other exciting programs. Our scholars most enjoy the family-like foundation that the support of the learning community provides, which eases the transition from high school to college and provides scholars the opportunity to create lifelong bonds and friendships.

• You can live with anyone who has a housing assignment in Wells West Residence Hall (including students in a learning community living in Wells West Residence Hall)

Available For

• Students who accept the Forward Scholars Scholarship (Note: Acceptance of Forward Scholars Scholarship REQUIRES membership in the Forward Scholars Learning Community)

Are you a student-athlete? Do you want to learn how to balance academics and athletics successfully? Join Rising Warhawks I today!

The Rising Warhawks learning community focuses on helping individual students transition to college and identify strategies to balance life as a student-athlete. Students are introduced to educational opportunities and resources to promote awareness of and engagement with campus resources and support systems. Specific focus is placed on career and major exploration, social responsibility, campus engagement and leadership development. Students take some coursework together for their first year and live in Lee Hall.

Who can I live with if I join this Learning Community?

• You can live with anyone who has a housing assignment in Lee Hall (including athletes who may not be in a learning community)

• Freshman NCAA Student-Athletes
