Beth John, Ed.D.

The Director of First Year Experience is responsible for the overall operations of the department, including administrative duties, budget management, program implementation,strategic planning, assessment, and supervision of the Assistant Director, Coordinator of Mentor Programs, Coordinator of Academic Initiatives, and Office Manager. The Director also provides direct leadership for programs and services, such as New Student Seminar and Family Programming. The Director of First Year Experience reports to the Assistant Vice Chancellor of Enrollment and Retention.
Amberly Bell, M.S.

The Assistant Director provides leadership in the orientation of new students; specifically, Plan-It Purple (summer orientation program), Club U Dub Dub and TRANSFERmation (fall orientation programs) and supervision of the Hawk Squad (orientation leader team). The Assistant Director is also responsible for the supervision of the FYE Graduate Assistant for Orientation.

The Office Manager provides administrative, clerical, and program support to the professional staff within the office for administration of programs for all new students and their families including: Plan-It Purple, Mentor Program, Family Programming, and the Learning Communities.
Coordinator of Mentor Programs
Marie Hornickel, M.S.

The Coordinator of Mentor Programs provides oversight and supervision of the Peer Mentor and Team Transfer Programs. She is also responsible for the supervision of the FYE Graduate Assistant for Mentor Programs.
Coordinator of Academic Initiatives
Kelli Danielski, M.S.
Office: UC 243
The Coordinator for Academic Initiatives is responsible for recruiting incoming students for the Learning Communities program. She is also responsible for the recruitment and retention of faculty and staff who have an active role in the communities. In addition, she supervises the Graduate Assistant for Learning Communities.
Graduate Assistant For Mentor Programs

The Graduate Assistant for Mentor Programs works closely with the Coordinator of Mentor Programs to assist in logistics, planning and program components of TRANSFERmation. She also supervises Team Transfer and works closely with Peer Mentors.
Graduate Assistant For Orientation

The Graduate Assistant for Student Involvement assists with the logistics, planning and program components for Plan-It Purple, Club U-Dub-Dub, TRANSFERmation, HawkSquad, and family programs. She also supervises the Purple Pit Crew student team.

The Graduate Assistant for Learning Communities works closely with the Coordinator of Academic Initiatives and assists with logistics, planning and program components for Learning Communities.
