Once admitted to UW-Whitewater, one of your next steps is to attend a Warhawks SOAR (Student Orientation, Advising, & Registration) program (formerly referred to as Plan-It Purple). During Warhawks SOAR you will:
Warhawks SOAR is required for all new students and is held from 8:15am- 4:00pm in the University Center. You must attend the entire program in order to register for classes. When you register to attend Warhawks SOAR, the following
non-refundable fees must be paid to reserve your seat in the program: $90 new student fee, $15 for each guest attending. Additionally, a $100 enrollment deposit is due.
May 30, June 1, June 5, June 7, June 11, June 13, June 15, June 19, June 21, June 26 and August 24
(Program registration begins on March 1st.)
To register: Log into your WINS account and select "Main Menu" (top left corner); "Student Center" ; "UWW Applications"; "Warhawks SOAR"; "Reserve a Date". Follow the prompts from there. Your registration is not complete until you pay your fees. For instructions on how to register, click here.
Your UW-Whitewater email address is your formal communication with the university. All bills, notifications, confirmations and emergency updates will be sent via email, so be sure to check your UW-W email often! We encourage you to install it on your smartphone. Your username is your Net ID which was included on your admissions letter. For the first time you log-in, your password is your 7 digit student id number.
The Math Placement Test (MPT) is required of all new students without previous college-level coursework. Be sure to take your Math Placement Test prior to coming to Warhawks SOAR as your registration in a math course depends on it. Submit your signed housing contract with your $125 deposit to University Housing as soon as possible. Access the housing contract here: uww.edu/housing/assignments/housingcontracts.
The FAFSA is available at fafsa.ed.gov starting Oct. 1, 2017, with a priority deadline of Jan. 1, 2018. For students who complete the FAFSA and submit all their required documents by Jan. 1, award letters will start to go out on Feb. 1.
