The Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs oversees the internal affairs of the university and serves as chief academic officer of the university, its colleges and schools. The Provost is charged with the development, implementation, and assessment of academic programs and policies. The Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor works with the academic deans and faculty in the Colleges of Arts and Communication, Business and Economics, Education and Professional Studies, and Letters and Sciences, and the School of Graduate Studies and Continuing Education to ensure the delivery of high quality academic programs and learning experiences for our students. The Provost also works with the directors of other units including Academic Support Services, Information Technology, the Academic Advising and Exploration Center, Admissions, International Studies, Institutional Research, the Honors Program, the Registrar's Office, the University Library, Research and Sponsored Programs, and Undergraduate Research to provide support and services that are integral to student success. The Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor informs and advises the Chancellor on all academic matters and plays a primary role in institutional planning and operations. In the absence of the Chancellor, the Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor serves as acting Chancellor.
