Intercollegiate athletics returned to the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater at Rock County in the fall of 2023 as the volleyball team held the first campus competition in five years.
UW-Whitewater at Rock County looks forward to expanding the athletic department to include more teams in the coming years.
Current Sports
Women’s Volleyball
The UW-Whitewater at Rock County volleyball team made its competitive debut in the fall of 2023. The Warhawks participated in the Wisconsin Collegiate Conference (WCC) and focused on building a foundation for future success – on and off the floor.
The volleyball team is set to participate in the National Junior College Athletic Association starting in the 2024-25 academic year. The NJCAA includes two-year colleges from around the nation – nearly 60,000 student-athletes compete across 28 sports.

Men’s Soccer
In the spring of 2024, students interested in playing men’s soccer will have the opportunity to participate in open gyms to prepare for the fall 2024 season.
UW-Whitewater at Rock County will compete in the NJCAA during the 2024-25 academic year.

UW-Whitewater at Rock County offers a wide range of open gym and fitness center hours during the school week. Students can fill out a one-time waiver for the academic year and sign in before each use of the facilities.
Students can participate in the following sports during open gym time:
- Basketball
- Volleyball
- Soccer
- Pickleball
- and more!
Our fitness center includes the following equipment, services and amenities available to all students:
- Weightlifting room
- Exercise machines
- Yoga area
- and more!
