Institutional Animal Care & Use Committee
Function
The committee (IACUC) ensures that the campus mission to encourage free and responsible investigation by faculty, staff, and students is compatible with a responsible animal care program. The purpose of review is to ensure conformity with federal regulations, state statutes, and generally accepted ethical guidelines involving the use of animals in research.
Membership

At least five faculty or academic staff, one of which is chair
- At least one member whose primarily in a scientific area
- At least one member whose primarily in a non-scientific area

Research Compliance Officer

Licensed Veterinarian (non-University of Wisconsin-Whitewater member)
