Reinstatement Process

A student who has been academically dismissed must be formally reinstated to be eligible to enroll for classes in a fall/spring semester following the one in which he/she is dismissed. 

A student who has been academically dismissed at the end of a fall/spring semester and wishes to petition for reinstatement must follow the appropriate procedure below that describes his/her situation.

  • Submit appeal to Academic Standards Committee by appropriate deadline.
  • Complete Exceed 15 credits Appeal if you wish to register for more than 15 units in the subsequent semester.
  • Consult with Academic Advisor or Academic Standards Office to review options.*

*NOTE: A student who is academically dismissed may enroll in summer or winterim classes in an effort to improve his/her cumulative grade point average and academic standing. A dismissed student is not eligible for financial aid for summer or winterim classes.

  • Apply for readmission through Undergraduate Admissions by appropriate deadlines.
  • Submit official transcripts if you've attended a college outside of UWW (if applicable).
  • Consult with Academic Advisor or Academic Standards Office to review options.*
