Bowling Camp

The Warhawk Bowling Camps are co-ed camps forcampers grades 7-12. These camps will teach campers both the physical and mental skills needed to improve their bowling game while creating a fun and exciting learning environment. The purpose of Warhawk Bowling Camp is to teach every camper the fundamental and advanced skills necessary to make him or her a better bowler.

Warkhawk Bowling College Prep Camp

Our Warhawk Bowling College Prep Camp is an overnight or commuter camp geared toward serious bowlers that have the intention to bowl at the college level. Our camp will prepare campers for college level bowling by focusing on mental toughness, high-level frame play along with targeted strategies. This camp will specialize in advanced lane pattern discussions, ball choices, ball drilling, advanced practice techniques as well as mental game preparation.

This year, Warhawk Bowling College Prep Camp is proud to welcome special guest representatives from Storm and Roto Grip. The UW-Whitewater bowling team is represented by both competitve brands. To prepare our advanced college prep campers for competitve play, they will have the opportuinty to purchases their own ball at a discounted rate! The Storm Crux Pearl can be purchased for $174.04 and the Storm Rocket for $131.83. The ball will be available for pick up at camp.

Warkhawk Bowling Camp

Our Warhawk Bowling Camp is an overnight residential camp geared toward bowlers that already have a good grasp on the sport of bowling and are ready for focused instruction. This camp will focus on in-depth discussions about lane patterns, ball choices, ball drilling, advanced practice techniques as well as mental game preparation.

The resident fee includes housing, meals, instructional materials and camp t-shirt. The commuter fee includes meals, instructional materials and camp t-shirt.

Warhawk Bowling Day Camp

Camp: August 3

Our Warhawk Bowling Day Camp will help campers develop the fundamental skills necessary to make him or her a better bowler. We encourage and welcome bowlers of all skill levels to attend this camp and improve their bowling game by an average of 10 or more pins.

Focus of Instruction

Campers will learn more about their physical game including:

  • 4 and 5 step approach
  • Proper follow through (Arm swing - Release - Hand positioning - Timing)
  • Lane play (How to read the lanes, knowing when to make a move and playing a sport shot correctly)
  • Spare shooting
  • Strike shot
  • Pre-shot rituals
  • Equipment and team building activities

Housing and Dining

All resident campers live in the residence hall facilities at UW-Whitewater. Our live-in adult staff will supervise camper activities. Developing new friends is encouraged.

The dining hall is located in close proximity to the University Center and serves well-balanced meals. Meals are included in the camp fee.

Equipment

Warhawk Bowling Campers are responsible for bringing their own ball and shoes. Extras will be available at no cost for campers who do not have their own ball and shoes. It is recommended that campers bring a bag and water bottle. Proper attire recommended: t-shirt, shorts and athletic shoes.

Leann Eimermann
  • Four year as UWW head coach
  • Led the team to nations top ranking for DIII institutions in 2011-2014
  • Led Warhawks to a third place finish at NCAA Nationals in 2013-2014
  • Earned Division II/III National Coach of the Year honors in 2013
  • Junior League Coordinator and Marketing Intern at King Pin Lanes in Campbellsport, WI
  • USBC Silver Certified Bowling Coach
  • 4 Year Letter winner/team captain, contributing to some of the best team finishes in school history

Shawn Wochner

Shawn Wochner
  • 5th year as Head Coach for UW-Whitewater Men's Program
  • Earned NCBCA Kerm Helmer Men's Coach of the Year - 2014
  • Led the Warhawks to an 8th place ranking in 2014, highest program that doesn't award athletic scholarship
  • Led the Warhawks to the 2014 Intercollegiate Team Championships in Reno, NV
  • USBC Bronze Certified Coach
  • 4 year Varsity team member at Western Illinois University, 1997-2001

Insurance

Each camper will be covered by a limited accident insurance policy. The insurance includes primary coverage up to $7,500 and $300 maximum dental insurance. Insurance does not cover pre-existing injuries and is for accidents only. The cost of insurance is included in the registration fee.
