History

The sustainability program at UW-Whitewater officially started with the signing of the American College and University President’s Climate Commitment in 2007 and the hiring of the first Sustainability Coordinator in 2008.  The Sustainability Office was established in 2014 with the hiring of our first student staff.  The Sustainability Office is in the Facilities Planning and Management Department and reports to the Vice Chancellor for Administrative Affairs.

Location and Hours

The UW-Whitewater Sustainability Office is located at 500 N. Fremont Street, Whitewater WI.  We are on the second floor of the General Services building, which is accessible using an exterior staircase or wheelchair ramp at the north end of the building near the receiving dock.

Our parking lot (Lot 21) requires a Staff or North Commuter permit to park at unmarked stalls.  Vistor parking is available in the lot near the main office door and the staircase is visible on the NE corner of the building.  Handicap parking is located up the hill next to the receiving dock.

At the top of the stairs/ramp, you can enter exterior door #14 from 7 AM – 3 PM and the office is immediately on your left.
