At the Children's Center, we parter with families to promote the success of their children. Our goal is to support families in transforming lives by providing a learner-centered, collaborative early care and educational environment.

Parenting Students

The UW-Whitewater Children's Center has numerous resources available for parenting students at the university.

The UW-Whitewater Children’s Center has rental caps and gowns avialable to all UW-Whitewater parenting students who are graduating.

There are now parent study rooms available in UW-Whitewater Andersen Library. These include Room 2232 and Room 2210B. These rooms are provided by the UW-Whitewater Children's Center Child Care Access Means Parents in School (CCAMPIS) Grant.

These free resources are avilable to all UW-Whitewater parenting students. Stop by the UW-Whitewater Children's Center to pick up:

  • Clothing for newborns through six years through the Children's Center clothing swap
  • Variety of parenting and children books

UW-Whitewater's Lactation Rooms are located in Hyland Hall, Room 1006, UC65, along with a Lactation Pod located on the 4th floor of Laurentide Hall. These locations provide a private, cozy space where lactating mothers are welcome to pump or nurse. To gain access to the room located in Hyland Hall, simply submit the Hyland Hall Lactation Room Request Form or contact the Online Ed & Tech support Room in Hyland 3001 (262-472-4981 or  cobetech@uww.edu).

To request access to the room in McCutchan Hall please contact Maureen Quass at 262-472-6733 or quassm@uww.edu To book the Pod in Laurentide Hall, please locate the mobile app listed on the Pod door and download for use.

Help make their visit a little easier!

We’re distributing Busy Bags across campus— child-friendly kits filled with engaging toys and activities designed to keep children occupied during Whatmeetings, advising sessions, or office visits.

Stop by the Children’s Center office (Roseman 1006) to pick up a bag for your office, or request one by emailing ccdirector@uww.edu.

Currently bags are located in the following spaces: Warhawk Connection Center (WCC), Financial Literacy Center, Academic Advising & Exploration Center (AAEC), College of Education & Professional Studies Advising, College of Letters and Sciences (COLS). Warhawk Emergency Fund (WEF), One Stop, and the Dean of Students office.
