School Age Programming

The UW–Whitewater Children’s Center School Age Care Program provides a safe, engaging, and enriching environment for children in 4K through fourth grade on days when elementary schools in the Whitewater Unified School District are closed. Designed to support working families, the program offers full-day care in the familiar and welcoming spaces of the UW-Whitewater campus, with hours from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Children enjoy a balanced day that includes hands-on activities, creative projects, outdoor play, campus exploration, and time to relax and connect with peers, all guided by experienced and caring staff. With all meals (breakfast, lunch, and snack) included and flexible enrollment options, our School Age Care Program makes school break days both fun and worry-free for families.

First Visit Information

We're so excited to have your child join us! There are jsut a couple things you need to know before your first visit:

  • You must have all required paperwork completed and turned in prior to your school age child being signed in for the day. For School Age children this is Child Health Form and Immunization Records.
  • Care must be paid for the day care is provided.
  • Set up an intake meeting with your child’s lead teacher. This is critical for easing the transition into our program for you, your child and the classroom.
  • Get your Hawk Card.

What to Bring

Paperwork

You will receive these forms via email from our administrative assistant. We cannot provide care if the forms are not filled out and turned into the office. This is a Department of Child and Family Services Child Care Licensing requirement.

Lunch

You will need to provide a nut-free cold lunch for your child. We provide breakfast and an afternoon snack.

Water Bottle

Please make sure your child(ren) bring(s) a labeled water bottle.

Clothes

  • Three extra pairs of clothes in case clothes become messy, wet or soiled.
  • Helmet
  • Water Bottle

Appropriate Outdoor Gear

We go outside every day, weather permitting. Please bring appropriate clothes for child to be comfortable outside. Warmer months: sunscreen and sun hats. Cooler months: Jackets and rain boots. Cold months: snow pants, winter jacket, hat, waterproof gloves, snow boots. Children two and older will go outside if it feels like 0 or above.  The Children’s Center follows the Child Care Weather Watch to determine when we should limit our time outside. The Center provides sunscreen and bug spray. If you do not wish for your child to use this, we kindly ask you to bring your own.
