External Reports
IRAP is responsible for completing many external reports and surveys, including federal and state reporting obligations, UW System reporting requirements, and guidebook/ranking surveys that ensure accurate information about the University of Wisconsin - Whitewater is disseminated nationally to prospective students and their families.
Because they represent reporting requirements, best practices, and/or contribute to UW-W’s national reputation, these activities take precedence over other reports and related data requests.
The Common Data Set (CDS) initiative is a collaborative effort among data providers in the higher education community and publishers as represented by the College Board, Peterson's, and U.S. News & World Report.

IPEDS Surveys
The Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) is a system of surveys designed to collect data from all primary providers of postsecondary education. The IPEDS system is built around a series of interrelated surveys to collect institution-level data in such areas as enrollments, program completions, faculty, staff, and finances.
The following surveys are submitted annually and are available by request: 12-Month Enrollment, Academic Libraries, Admissions, Completions, Cost 1, Cost 2, Fall Enrollment, Finance, Graduation Rates, Grad Rates 200%, Human Resources, Institutional Characteristics, Outcome Measures, and Student Financial Aid.

Student Achievement Measure (SAM)
The Student Achievement Measure [External link] is supported by six sponsoring associations, working together to provide a more comprehensive and accurate picture of student progress and completion as students move across institutions and state boundaries.
Post-Secondary Employment Outcomes (PSEO)
The Post-Secondary Employment Outcomes (PSEO) [External link] are experimental tabulations developed by researchers at the U.S. Census Bureau. PSEO data provide earnings and employment outcomes for college and university graduates by degree level, degree major, post-secondary institution, and state of institution.
Higher Education Opportunity Act (HEOA)
HEOA includes many disclosure and reporting requirements. In order to increase transparency, UW-W is required to make certain information available to students and all other interested parties. The applicable data is available at the webpage Your Right To Know.
State Authorization
State authorization is the process in which institutes of higher education obtain permission from a state to provide postsecondary educational programs and/or services in that particular state. Compliance with state authorization regulations allows UWW to offer online courses and degrees, advertise to students out of the state, award financial aid and use state-based resources. UWW is a member of the National Council of State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA [External link]).
