Graduate Records Exam (GRE) | This test is an integral part in the admission process for graduate or business school and reflects the kind of thinking you'll do during your academic career. College-Level Examination Program (CLEP) | The 33 subject-level exams are offered in diverse disciplines and cover college-level baccalaureate credit courses. Miscellaneous Exams | The Testing Office can proctor/administer exams for UW-Whitewater courses or departments or for other universities. The Testing Office can also meet other testing needs of students. Please refer to the Exams for Credit for more information. NOTE: the Testing Office is not able to schedule an exam until we have the materials in hand. Exceptions can be made dependent upon the test (paper v. computer), but the office needs to receive the directions/restrictions/guidelines for a student's exam from the instructor before scheduling them. |

Illinois Licensure Testing System
These tests are used for placement in Math, English, and World Language on campuses in the University of Wisconsin system. Note: English placement is based on ACT/SAT sub-scores in those areas on the UW-Whitewater campus (please refer to the Placement Guide and Retro Credits for World Language for more information).
Paper and Pencil or Computer Based Placement exams are offered to incoming students of a University of Wisconsin System school during the spring semester or early summer on the UW-Whitewater campus. Please refer to Schedule a Test for a list of national and state testing dates and to register for placement testing, or proceed to the Center for Placement Testing website below.
There is no fee to take this exam at UW-Whitewater on a regional placement testing date. Note: Incoming freshman students must register for a paper and pencil or computer-based testing date during the state testing dates. The test scores will be shared with incoming freshmen during their freshmen orientation. Incoming freshman may take this exam a second time for a $30 fee. The repeat exam must be administered on campus during the residual dates, please refer to Schedule a Test for a list of residual dates. International students will be tested during their orientation program prior to the start of their first semester. Current UW-Whitewater students and transfer students can take these tests in the Testing Office (they are offered multiple times each week)-please visit Schedule a Test, and be aware that a $30 Testing Office administration fee will be charged.
***Important note for test takers with a disability requesting accommodations on the UW Placement Test due to a Disability: Do NOT register online if you are requesting special accommodations due to a disability.
