Lisa Beebe is an Assistant Professor of Musicology at the University of Wisconsin, Whitewater. She received a PhD in cultural musicology from the University of California, Santa Cruz; a Master of Arts in Music History from the University of Washington (Seattle); and a Bachelor of Arts in Music and French from Hiram College (Ohio). 

Dr. Beebe's research interests focus on cultural and historical context of musical activity. Her research projects include đàn bầu performance in Vietnam and the diaspora, musical instrument collections, and musicology/ethnomusicology pedagogy. Dr. Beebe is an active member of the American Musical Instrument Society and recently published an article in the Society's journal titled Creative Avenues for the Fretted Vietnamese Đàn bầu Monochord. 

At UWW, Dr. Beebe teaches courses in the Music History sequence (MUSC 245 and 246); Survey of African American Music (MUSC 240); Women in Music (MUSC/WOMNEST 345); and World of the Arts (CORE 110).
