David Simkins earned his PhD in 2011 from the University of Wisconsin -- Madison Department of Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis on Games and Learning and Learning Sciences. He joined the faculty at the University of Wisconsin -- Whitewater in 2024. Previously he was an Associate Professor in the School of Interactive Games and Media at the Rochester Institute of Technology 2011-2024. He teaches courses in games design and development, new media development and games and media studies.
