Christopher Hovorka profile picture
Christopher is currently an associate lecturer for the ECE4U program at UWW and developed an interest in researching the effects of humor while working towards a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology-Cognitive Development and Sciences at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.  His interest was initially based on personal experiences he had while working for over 15 years as a special education teacher in an urban school district (Racine, WI). It is his hope that his experience and research can provide a useful tool for other teachers and staff to use while engaging others in high school settings, especially when working on student-staff relationships within an urban academic setting.  Christopher is currently entering the dissertation status of his doctoral program and will be conducting further research based on humor and its use in the classroom.  His long-term goal is to be considered a "teaching" professor with a focus on post-secondary transitioning for new students.
